Writing can be a difficult thing when you're doing it on you own. These are some resources that have helped me in my writing journey. I hope you find something to help you!

For Writing and Querying:

NaNo has a bad reputation in parts of the writing world, but if it gets you to put words on the page, that's good.  Also, the forums are great for research, questions, and finding critique partners. Just please revise your NaNo novel before querying: https://nanowrimo.org/

Brandon Sanderson's lectures on creative writing are fantastic: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=N4ZDBOc2tX8

Write what you love, but knowing your target word count is imperative: http://literaticat.blogspot.com/2011/05/wordcount-dracula.html

QueryShark. Please be wise and read before you query: http://queryshark.blogspot.com/

Writer's Digest helps:

For Pitch Wars and other contests:

One of the first YA Blogs I ever found: https://amytruebloodauthor.com/

Conferences:

***Again, so many good options, this is just a start!***

For picture books, MG, and YA:

Sci-Fi/Fantasy, but also tons of good writing info:

I have not been to YALLFest, but I have drooled over the list of authors: http://www.yallfest.org/

And same with the west coast sibling of YALLFest, YALLWest: https://www.yallwest.com/

And remember -

Not sticks with which to beat ourselves."
