In the fall of 2009, we moved into our house. While trying to make friends, I told someone I like to write, and she pointed out Rebecca Bischoff to me as someone who had a writing group. I basically hunted her down and begged her to let me be a part of it. (I was exactly as desperate as it sounds - both for new friends and for someone who shared my love of crafting stories.)

Lucky for me, Rebecca is amazing, and she willingly included me in all her writing activities. The writing group was amazing, but beyond that Rebecca took me with her to my first SCBWI conference, where I fell in love with the authors and the writing community. We spent the long hours traveling talking about our stories and how to make them stronger. We encouraged each other. We did NaNo a few times together. And when Rebecca landed her book deal with Amberjack Publishing, we celebrated together.

As part of her promotion for her novel, THE FRENCH IMPRESSIONIST, which came out in Dec 2016, Rebecca arranged for a journalist from the local paper, the Magic Valley Times, to come and interview the four of us in our writing group.

This morning, I started getting texts from people who'd read the article, and I had to hurry and go read it! Yay for my few seconds of fame! :-)
